We
have heard from so many residents asking how they can assist the family whose
home was devastated by fire this week.
The Village itself cannot conduct a fund-raiser. However, we have been made aware of a
GoFundMe campaign that was set up on their behalf and advertised on other
social media sites. You can access it
and read more about it via this link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-the-breglios/share.
We have also heard comments and concerns about the cause of
this fire and the fires the past few years.
As per a report filed by Chief Powell, the preliminary findings on cause
is that the fire started on the front of the house where the Christmas lights
were. The fire quickly spread when it caught fire onto the siding of the
home. We wish to thank our Stewart Manor
Fire Department volunteers for their efforts and extend our appreciation for
their good work.
Also, we have heard from many of you who are concerned about
the electric in your homes, many of which were built over 90 years ago. If you share this concern, you should be
diligent about your electrical connections.
You could seek the opinion of a licensed electrician about your
particular situation.
Also, as mentioned in our first email on this topic, please
refer to the fire department section of our website for valuable information on
fire prevention. https://villagestewartmanor.digitaltowpath.org:10254/content/Generic/View/33
Stay safe.
