Just when we think we
have experienced the worst of this Year 2020, we are reminded once again
that tragedy offers no exemptions to the unfortunate events that we all
have witnessed recently.
Last night’s tragic
fire on Bromleigh Road affected residents who have recently moved into our
neighborhood with the intent of raising their family in our loved Village. I am
asking that we keep this family in all our prayers and if possible, extend any
help we can offer. The Village is committed to helping and expediting any
reconstruction that would be necessary to allow this family to return to a
normal life as soon as possible.
Thankfully were no injuries to the residents or the fire
department volunteers. Thank you to the many neighboring fire departments
who came to assist our Stewart Manor volunteers. The efforts of all of these
fire personnel prevented further tragedy.
This is a good reminder to all of us to check that our smoke
detectors are working, that we have reviewed emergency evacuation plans with
our families and that we pay attention to all fire safety recommendations.
Recently Chief Powell shared information on that topic, which appears on the
Village's website via this link (and then see the documents section): https://villagestewartmanor.digitaltowpath.org:10254/content/Generic/View/33
Stay safe.
