Village
Taxes Due TOMORROW
Village taxes are due tomorrow, Wednesday, July 22nd.
Beginning Thursday, July 23rd, penalties are assessed on all unpaid
taxes, as per state law. Legally, the penalties cannot be waived for any
reason.
Pool
Senior Hours
Just a reminder that the pool is open from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
Tuesday and Thursdays for seniors. Prior
to the regular pool season, any Stewart Manor senior can attend for a cost of
$5 for the day. Beginning on August 1st,
you must have a seasonal pool membership to attend.
Social
Distancing and Mask Wearing Concerns
The
Village has received several complaints regarding groups of people,
particularly kids, not social distancing or wearing masks in the Village. We
ask parents to remind your children of the current regulations. Keeping our
community safe is the goal. (Please note that enforcement of these rules is not
with the Village as we do not have a police department).
Residential
Rehabilitation Program
The Village of Stewart Manor participates with Nassau County and
the Federal Government in a “Residential Rehabilitation Program”. It is designed to assist those with lower
incomes ($70,950 for a one-person household) to have necessary work done to
their homes by the County’s contractor (items like windows, doors, roofs,
and boilers). In order to apply, submit
a letter to the Village Hall requesting consideration for the “Residential
Rehabilitation Program”. The letter must contain one’s name, address and
daytime phone number. The Village will forward that information to the
County who in turn will send a confidential application. There is limited
funding for this program and the process takes a minimum of several months to
complete. Applying to the program is not a guarantee of funding.
