July 14,
2020
Dear
Resident,
I am very
happy to report that the pool will open for the 2020 season based on the positive
response from the community. We will be
adhering to all local, New York State and CDC safety and cleaning guidelines.
Please
read this entire email for some very important information.
The large
pool only will open beginning this Friday, July 17th from 11 a.m. to
7 p.m. From July 17th to July 31st, ALL Stewart Manor
residents (regardless of whether you have joined for the 2020 season) and all
non-residents who have already joined for the 2020 season, may use the pool at
a daily rate of $5 per person regardless of age. Also, the Board has decided to
waive the late fee for any who join during this period, prior to August 1st.
Beginning
on August 1st and continuing through Labor Day (which we define as the
official pool season), you MUST have paid for a 2020 membership to enter the
facility. Commencing on August 1st,
the daily rate will be eliminated.
Construction
on the small pool and splashpad is in its final stages and is projected to be
completed to be August 1st (the beginning of our defined pool
season). No one will be permitted in
this area until it is completed.
For the
entire season, beginning this Friday, I want to highlight the following:
1.
You must bring your own chair if you wish to have
one for the day. There will be NO chairs/lounges
provided at the entire facility.
2.
You must wear a mask to enter the facility. Masks will be required any time you are not
in the water or are not seated in your chair. You will not be admitted without
a mask (children under age 2 are exempt).
3.
Entry
to the pool is on a daily first come, first served basis because of the
capacity limitation guidelines. There will be no reservations and no time
limit. You must be present physically to
count in the number of people. Family
members cannot reserve a spot for you. Children age 12 and under MUST be
accompanied by an adult (this has always been the regulation).
4.
Social
distancing of six feet must be observed, however, household / family groups of
up to 10 people will be permitted to congregate.
5.
Capacity
at the pool is limited to 72 people when the large pool only is open and 96
people when both pools begin operating. This capacity does not include staff
members. If capacity is reached, when people
leave, others can be admitted. Please be
patient with the policy as it is new, but necessary.
6. If you
wish for your grandchildren to accompany you to the pool during the pool
season, please contact Village Hall. villagehall@stewartmanor.org.
7.
All
other prior pool regulations apply and will be posted at the pool and available
on the pool application.
In
closing, I wish to note that the Board and the entire Village staff have worked
very hard to provide some degree of recreation this year in light of the many
challenges we have faced. That said, we
ask for your patience as the pool season gets underway. These are new and challenging times for all
of us. We will do our best to make the
season great. These initial two weeks of
pay as you go will hopefully allow us some time to work out any kinks. Our top
priority, as always, is the safety of the public and the staff.
See you at the pool.
Mike
