Dear Resident:
We are sure by this time many of you have had questions
wondering if Stewart Manor will be opening our pool for this summer season….The
short answer is YES.
Due to the work stoppage in construction of our new
children’s pool, which was mandated by our Governor, we have lost considerable
scheduling time, and as a result the new pool will not be scheduled to open
until Aug 1st. However, due to the many requests to consider an
earlier opening, we are currently working with the Nassau County Department of
Health to try to implement a possible sole operation of the large pool
only, about two weeks before the entire facility will be operational. We are
anticipating a decision on the large pool from the Department of Health within
several weeks, at which time you will be notified immediately.
If the large pool commences operation in mid-July, there
will be a separate daily fee schedule until BOTH pools are in operation.
The regular pool membership pro-rated fee would be for the use of the facility
from Aug 1st until September 7th. The rates will be
listed on this year’s application, which will be mailed within the next two
weeks.
Lastly, there will be mandatory guidelines that must
permit capacity limits, proper social distancing, mask and cleaning
requirements. The details of these
requirements will also be indicated in your application.
It is important to mention that we have made extraordinary
efforts to provide a pool recreation season for our members, residents, and
most importantly the children of our community. However, if we do not receive a
cost-effective number of pool membership applications by the listed due date (July
10th) for this year’s season, it is possible we may need to cancel
this year’s Pool season.
