important topics.
Floral Park Event Tonight
Many of you
may have heard about an event tonight in Floral Park. As per the Village of Floral Park, and as posted

of Floral Park Statement Regarding Thursday June 4th Event
The Village is aware of an event planned for this Thursday afternoon at
Memorial Park. The organizers of the event are young Floral Park Village
residents who have expressed their intention to hold a peaceful event.
The Village Police will be present to promote peace, as they do every day.
The safety and security of our residents, business owners and
property is paramount. Our Village Police and Village staff will continue to
work towards a safe event for all.
As I mentioned in my email the other day, I have notified the NCPD 3rd
Precinct that in the event of a protest in our direction (Covert Ave etc.), I
have requested their police protection.
Normal Village Sanitation Collection to Resume Monday, June 8th
Conditions now allow to resume the regular, rear yard collection of
garbage from residents’ homes beginning this coming Monday, June 8th. (If you are uncomfortable with the crews
resuming that collection at your residence, you may continue to put your
garbage to the curb through June 30th only). Recycling and bulk collection remains
unchanged.
Village Taxes – Interest Free Payment Period Extended
As a measure of some financial relief for our taxpayers, I applied, and
was granted by the Governor’s office, via Executive Order 202.36, the ability
to defer tax payments without penalty for an additional 21 days. Payments must now
be received by the Village by July 21, 2020 in order to not incur a penalty.
