CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

At this point in time, the Village has contacted state and local officials and agencies regarding any information, protocols, funding etc. related to the Coronavirus. While we have not heard back directly from our elected officials, the Nassau County Department of Health states that it is taking all of its guidance from the state. They further said that anyone with questions should consult either the NYS or CDC website or call the New York State Hotline that has been set up for the Coronavirus as shown below (this information is also available on the homepage of the Village’s website: www.stewartmanor.org). The Village always ensures that the fire department is supplied with everything they require in order to properly respond and be protected at all times. The Village will continue to monitor the situation and make any adjustments deemed necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of the taxpayers and staff.

THE RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM

The Village of Stewart Manor participates with Nassau County and the federal government in a “Residential Rehabilitation Program”. This program helps people of limited income have necessary repairs and/or upgrades performed on their homes.

In order to apply for the program, a homeowner needs to submit a letter to the Village requesting consideration for the “Residential Rehabilitation Program” including name, address and daytime telephone number. Ultimately, one will need to submit an application with Nassau County with a small fee to determine if one qualifies.

For more information on the program, please follow this link before applying.

CATCH BASINS

At no time should anything be swept or placed in the Village’s catch basins or storm sewers, especially lawn debris, pet waste or chemicals of any kind. Doing so creates a nuisance for your neighbors and will result in a Village summons.

The Stewart Manor Volunteer Fire Department is actively seeking members for Fire / EMS. If interested, come down to the Firehouse Thursdays at 8:00 PM or Sundays 10:00 AM or call the Firehouse at 516-354-0880 or visit www.stewartmanorfire.com Help provide emergency services to your friends and neighbors.
