MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
(Saturday, May 25th) at 10 am on the Country Club lawn, the Village will
host a Memorial Day Ceremony followed by light refreshments provided by the
Stewart Manor Country Club. Please
consider attending this event with your whole family. Your neighbors who attend
the ceremony annually comment on how the event highlights the essence of our
beautiful Village and helps to set the tone to truly remember and appreciate
those who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure the wonderful freedoms we all
Powell and the Fire Department also invite you to come to the firehouse
tomorrow at 9 a.m., prior to the event at the Country Club, as they remember
all of the past members who served Stewart Manor who are no longer with
us. Their service to the community is
beautifully remembered each year at this brief ceremony.

APPLICATIONS DUE NEXT FRIDAY
Next Friday, May 31st, is the last
day to submit your pool membership application and take advantage of the
regular rates (and not incur a $50 late fee).
If you did not receive your application in the mail last month, please
come to the Village Hall or download an application from the Village website
under “Pool”. The pool opens for the
season on Friday, June 14th at 3 p.m.
Tax bills will be mailed next
week. They may be paid, without penalty,
between June 1st and July 1st. If your tax bills are paid through your
mortgage, your bill is sent directly to the tax service company that requested
STOP SIGN ENFORCEMENT
The Nassau County Police will be
enforcing speeding and stop signs in the Village on a more regular basis. Please be sure, for the safety of all,
especially the children, to be aware of how you travel through the
Village. In addition, for safety, some
new stop signs have been added in the Village, most recently on Cambridge
Avenue and Bromleigh Road. Please be aware of them.
NCPD Community Forum with the 3rd Precinct Commanding
Officer and POP
The Commanding officer of the 3rd
pct., Inspector Robert Musetich, is holding a meeting with Community leaders,
local government officials, school officials and residents. The purpose
is to discuss resources available to the community as well as address any questions
or concerns within the 3rd precinct. The 3rd Precinct POP officers will also be
in attendance to discuss various topics and answer questions.

The Stewart Manor Volunteer Fire
Department is actively seeking members for Fire / EMS. If interested, come
down to the Firehouse Thursdays at 8:00 PM or Sundays 10:00 AM or call the
