THIRD TRACK EXPANSION
PROJECT UPDATE
Per the most recent information provided by the M.T.A.,
the Covert Avenue crossing in New Hyde Park will be closed starting April 15th
and will last approximately six months. Please see the
local detour map attached. Signs, as requested by the Mayor, will soon be
displayed on both Covert Avenue and New Hyde Park Road at Salisbury and Chester
Avenues. reminding truck drivers that they cannot use our streets as a
cut-through. There is a large amount of information about the project on the

Village of Floral Park concerning temporary traffic flow changes in Floral Park
due to the Third Track Expansion Project:

EXPANSION PROJECT. . .
EFFECTIVE APRIL 8, 2019
TRAFFIC FLOW WILL BE
CHANGED TEMPORARILY AS FOLLOWS:
CISNEY
AVENUE will turn into a ONE-WAY STREET going easterly from Orchid Street to
Covert Avenue. There will be no right or
left turns permitted onto Cisney Avenue from Covert Avenue;
AND
BEVERLY
AVENUE will turn into a ONE-WAY STREET going easterly from Orchid Street to
Covert Avenue. There will be no right or
left turns permitted onto Beverly Avenue from Covert Avenue. Mayor Longobardi and Village Board of
Trustees appreciate your patience and understanding during the construction and
will keep you apprised of the status of any new changes on Floral Park’s
website at fpvillage.org
During the Third Track Construction
Project, all merchants on Covert Avenue will remain open for business. Please
make every effort to support your local businesses.
The
Stewart Manor Volunteer Fire Department is actively seeking members for Fire /
EMS. If interested, come down to the Firehouse Thursdays at 8:00 PM or
Sundays 10:00 AM or call the Firehouse at 516-354-0880. Help provide emergency
services to your friends and neighbors.
