PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENT GRIEVANCE WORKSHOP
Nassau
County Legislator Vincent Muscarella will be sponsoring a Property Tax
Assessment Grievance Workshop on Wednesday, March 13th at 11:00 a.m.
at the Franklin Square Public Library, 19 Lincoln Road, Franklin Square. These
workshops are for homeowners who disagree with the new property tax assessment
on their residence. Reservations are required. Please contact Legislator

VILLAGE ELECTION NEXT TUESDAY
The
Village Election for two Trustee positions will be held next Tuesday, March 19,
2019 from noon to 9 p.m. in the Village Hall.
The election is uncontested. The
two incumbent Trustees are each are running for another four-year term. The Peoples Party Candidate is Mary Carole
Schafenberg and the Independent Unity Party Candidate is William Grogan.
There
will also be a Special Election the same day only for residents who
reside in the Fernwood Terrace-Stewart Manor Library Funding District (basically
those who reside in the Garden City School District). The vote is to approve a new five-year
contract and budget with the Garden City Library (and election costs) as
mandated by law. The cost of new contract is the same as the old contract.

In
order to vote in either election, you must already be registered to vote with
the Nassau County Board of Elections at your Stewart Manor address.

During
the Third Track Construction Project, all merchants on Covert Avenue will
remain open for business. Please make every effort to support your local
businesses.
The Stewart Manor Volunteer Fire Department is
actively seeking members for Fire / EMS. If interested, come down to the
Firehouse Thursdays at 8:00 PM or Sundays 10:00 AM or call the Firehouse at
