In a joint effort with Senator Elaine Phillips and Island Harvest, donations will be accepted at Village Hall to support the victims effected by Hurricane Harvey. The collection will run from September 1st through September 15th. Of particular need are non-perishable, ready-to-eat food items, cleaning supplies and toiletries such as personal hygiene items like deodorant, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. No clothing items will be accepted. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you may do so at:

Please see the attachment for information on the TKO Strong Foundation fundraiser on Saturday, October 28th at 2pm. In addition, on September 9th, from 11-3pm, Stop and Shop of West Hempstead will host a fundraiser in support of TKO Strong and MVID (Microvillus Inclusion Disease) awareness. There will be a BBQ, fun activities for adults and kids, as well some new TKO gear for sale. The TKO Strong Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children born with MVID, by raising awareness and supporting research to find more effective treatment options.

In yesterday’s Village email, the name of the resident celebrating her 100th birthday was incorrect. It is Marie Altuna. We regret the error.
