Body:
Please join us tomorrow morning, Saturday, May 26th, at 10 a.m. for the Village's Annual Memorial Day Ceremony which will take place at the gazebo on the Country Club lawn. We ask you to take a moment at the beginning of this "holiday" weekend to commemorate the true spirit of the holiday - remembering those who have sacrificed so much to secure our freedom. We especially ask all the veterans of the Village to identify themselves prior to the ceremony, and sit at a place of honor so the rest of us can say "thank you" in a special way. The Stewart Manor Country Club will provide light refreshments after the ceremony.

Please also note that the flag flying at the Village Hall this weekend is a special one. It was given to the Village by Lionel Naraidu, Technical Sergeant, USAF upon his return from Afghanistan. The certificate accompanying the flag states: "The 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron from AL DHAFRA AB, U.A.E., flew this flag on a KC-10 "Extender" call sign "whistler 88" over Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM on October 15, 2011. This flag represents the commitment of the men and women of the Armed Forces, the Global War on Terrorism, and the thousands who died in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the fields of Pennsylvania ten years earlier on September 11, 2001. Let all who look upon this flag be reminded of their accomplishments and steadfast devotion protecting the freedoms our flag represents."

Lastly, the Village Hall will be closed on Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day. There will be no sanitation pick up.
