The Village Board will be hosting a work session on Tuesday, October 15th at 7 p.m. The Board will review proposed changes to the Fire Department By-Laws with members of the Department. The public is welcomed to attend but there will be no public comment period.
In addition, the Village has been notified by LIPA that they will be in the Village over the next few days along Covert Avenue trimming trees away from the high voltage wires in an effort to minimize any future electrical outages. You may see a large tree trimming presence on Covert Avenue during this time.
Lastly, as the leaves begin to fall, please be aware that all raked leaves must be placed in bags and put to the curb for our sanitation crews on your normal collection days. Landscapers may not leave bags behind, but must take them away with them for disposal. At no time should any leaves be raked into the street and left in piles nor should any items be swept or placed in the Village's catch basins. Both activities will be subject to summons and fines.
