Stewart Manor Fire Department

The Fire Department is composed of volunteer members. The apparatus consists of two pumpers, an emergency response vehicle, an ambulance and cars for the Fire Chief and the Assistant Fire Chief. The members of the department meet weekly to practice and upgrade their skills, and they train at the Bethpage fire fighting facility, learning the latest fire and rescue practices. During blackouts, floods, storms and unimaginable emergencies like the World Trade Center attack, the Fire Department members are first responders to the local community and, as needed, to the larger community.
