As is the policy
of the Town of Hempstead, with whom the Village has a contract and is where the
Village disposes of its garbage, all box springs and mattresses that are put to
the curb for Wednesday morning rubbish pickup must be placed inside a bedbug proof encasement bag and
completely sealed. These cases may be purchased at local home improvement
stores, department stores and some bedding stores (cost of cases vary from
$3.50 to $8.00, depending on the size of bedding). Any mattress or box spring that
is not packaged will not be picked up for disposal. Thank you for your
